Lisa Zador is an award-winning artist, illustrator, and textile designer based in New York. Her work, painted by hand in either oil or gouache, has a whimsical and nostalgic style that reflects Lisa’s diverse interest in anthropomorphic animals, 1950s science fiction, Victorian Gothic literature, retro food icons, and vintage fabric and wallpaper. She is an avid collector of vintage kitchenware and toys, which are often the inspiration for her work and which were highlighted in an Apartment Tour and Kitchen Tour by Apartment Therapy in 2011. Lisa’s artwork has been published by many companies, including Graphique de France, Sterwart Tabori & Chang, and Artville/Getty. In 2008, her original artwork for Publix Supermarkets private-label teas won an ADDY award. In 2002, Lisa collaborated with James Waller on a pair of books featuring her animal portraits, The Well-Bred Dog and The Well-Bred Cat, which were published by Harry Abrams. In the past 20 years, her textile designs have been used for apparel, tabletop, and bedding for clients including Nick & Nora, Town & Country Living, Echo scarves, the Gap, Limited Express, and Springs.
